Top 25 Resorts Spotlight – The Best of Florida (Part One)

published on February 24, 2014 by

Next to Hawaii, Florida had the most resorts placing in our Top 25 Rental Resorts list. Florida is also home to the number one resort making our list this year. Curious as to what makes our winner so enticing to RedWeek members? Read on!

Disney’s Beach Club Villas

Disney’s Beach Club Villas is no stranger to the top spot on our annual list. We’ve seen this Disney gem place quite a few times, and it’s little wonder why. Beach Club Villas’ prime spot right on Walt Disney World property is a huge draw, but it’s not only Orlando’s premier theme park that makes for such a desirable vacation spot. The resort itself offers a whimsical beachy aesthetic and a family-friendly attitude. If that’s not enough, Disney’s Beach Club Villas also boasts some amazing on-site dining options and the fantastically themed Stormalong Bay water recreation center.

Disney’s BoardWalk Villas

Disney’s BoardWalk Villas celebrates the classic charm of the Eastern seaboard’s legendary boardwalks. What makes this property so special is right there in the name – the boardwalk. Along the length of the resort lies a plethora of dining options, shopping and live entertainment. If you’re looking for a night out with friends, consider taking a walk down to Atlantic Dance Hall or Jellyrolls dueling piano bar. Rent a surrey bike and take the entire family for a ride around the BoardWalk’s own Crescent Lake. And with Walt Disney World’s Epcot and Hollywood Studios just a short walk away, there’s no better way to experience the Disney magic.

Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Wrapping up today’s list is another renowned Disney Vacation Club property – Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. However, the Wilderness Lodge forsakes the easy-going, beachy atmosphere of the last two resorts in favor of a rustic and woodsy reimagining of a lodge hidden away in the Rocky Mountains – you definitely don’t feel like you’re vacationing in Florida! A major draw of this particular resort is the quick ferry service to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, but that certainly doesn’t mean there’s not fun to be had on-site. Especially of interest are the two major dining options – Artist’s Point and Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Next week, we’ll tackle what makes our next three Floridian resorts so tempting! Be sure to check back next Monday for the rundown, as well as to see which region we’ll cover next!
